Beautiful Mind – Day 17, 18, 19

  
Originally I planned to have these three prompts delivered on separate days but that didn’t flow right. Since one thought is the momentum into the next. Do your best to complete it in one sitting or all together.

I would prefer Be the change that you WANT to see in your life. If we all start small & within ourselves what an amazing world we will (eventually) create. When you look at the word “world” it may seem overwhelming but when you think about “my life” that feels doable.

You can’t change anyone’s habits, personalities or life-style but you can change yours. I’ve noticed that people who take responsibility for their current situations are able to be the change they desire to see.

Beautiful Mind – Day 15

  
Family plays a major role and in some cases their schedule runs our lives but let’s consider what’s best. For instance when I come across a mom who has zero energy for her self-care I know what she’s going through. I hear words like, “When they get older.” Trust me I’ve been there and in some ways still there. 

Let’s build some affirmations to spark a bit of healthy energy throughout your home life. What would you like to see & what are you willing to make time for? Now create those affirmations. If you need help refer to DAY 14 of the BEAUTIFUL MIND challenge.

Beautiful Mind – Day 14

  
An affirmation is a sentence that you repeat to yourself on a regular basis which is usually made up of positive goals or ideas. The best type of affirmation is one that you create for yourself but creating one can be a little tricky. Why? Because you need to keep it simple and inspired by an emotional feeling or desire. Here are my tips …

  • Write down what you want. Example: loose 40lbs.
  • Think of one word that represents that want or desire. Example: Toned.
  • Then connect with a feeling and write that word. Example: Estatic.
  • Now build your sentence using I will, I am, I have or I believe for your affirmation. Example: I am so estatic about my toned body. I have a toned body that makes me estatic. 
  • Finally write, design or type your sentences onto somethings you’ll see often so you can say it often.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Thoughts become things” hundreds of times but how true is it? As it turns out it’s quite true and as you journey through these 30-Days of the BEAUTIFUL MIND challenge I hope you are benefiting. My goal for every reader is to become the healthiest & happiest, one day at a time. It is a journey but you don’t have to travel alone.

Beautiful Mind – Day 12

  
Today’s post makes me chuckle because I know this subject oh so well. I’ve procrastinated until things became overdone, past-due, late fees, sold out and outdated. Somewhere in my thinking pattern was a really good reason to procrastinate projects, goals and ideas. More often I found myself putting things off because I was afraid. Then I heard my pastor mention:

Do it afraid!

That was a single piece of inspiration to motivate me to do it in the midst of my fear. Wow can we say, “Breakthrough!” The bottom line is that you have to identify the WHY. Why do you put things off?

  
I’m sure that when the designers of Seattle’s Pikes Place Market started putting brick upon brick that they had no clue they would be building iconic structures. Today it’s well established and proposing expansion. 

Everything great comes from small beginnings. So don’t procrastinate another minute.

Foodie Fit: What better chef to share then Seattle’s own Mario Batali (although he’s cooking in NY, Lol)

Dance Fit: This sweet motivation dances like it’s just her and the music. 

Today’s a great day to start doing something beneficial for your body. Don’t procrastinate just dance.

Beautiful Mind – Day 7


The three narratives work like this, “I believe” represents your self talk. While, “I am” is what you project to your community and “I will” sums up your actions. Its internal, external and the action you take. All three can either work for you or against you but they are always working.

The Beautiful Mind challenge is important because winners are made from within and taking time to condition your mind is necessary. Do you know someone who would benefit from this challenge? Why not invite them to start at day one. Their checkins can be here on the blog or with you. The bottom line is to start.

FYI: We want to include everyone so there’s a modified Zumba Gold class with Ho’o that happens every week. Some of our members have had hip replacement, joint and muscle issues. One of our members has 80+ years of walking in beauty.  (This was pre-covid)

I consider this challenge the most important of all because choosing the right accountability partner will determine your success. So consider these characteristics when searching for yours.

  • Honest
  • Truthful
  • Self-Motivated 
  • Driven
  • Consistent
  • Not Afraid (of you or your tantrums, lol)
  • The type of friend that will tell you if you have lipstick on your teeth.

Fit Foodie 
A simple bowl of yummy Korean style with the veggies hugging the egg and the fresh noodles below. I enjoy Korean food because they incorporate a lot of vegetables into their meals. The seasoning and flavors dance around to leave you satisfied and content. Have you tried Korean cuisine?

Breaking BIG task down is helpful and manageable. It allows you to reach your goals but the real obstacle is being patient throughout the process. So I suggest you take it one day at a time. If it helps you can even buy a fancy planner to write out your ideas, schedule and goals.

MANA: Polynesian word for a type of strength that is generational and never ending.

Wahine: Hawaiian word for woman.

We wanted to create a fitness program for our members that would connect them to the beauty and strength of being a 21st century woman. This blog will be a place to share fitness, food and features. (Features: inspirational & motivational images.) It is our hope that you will visit often and share the MANA Wahine experience with others.
